Good nutrition is an important component of good health. This section of your Health and Wellness toolkit will outline important nutritional information you should know when building your healthy lifestyle.

Dieting will not be addressed here, because diets come and go and are not a permanent solution. We hope to help you build good eating habits, based on sound nutritional information, that will offer long-term, healthy solutions.

A great nutrition resource is the USDA’s food pyramid. It provides the federal government’s recommendations for healthy eating and is intended to be used as a guideline when assessing your diet. The food pyramid answers questions like:

  • How much milk should I drink in a day?
  • What are whole grains?
  • How can I vary the proteins I eat each day?
