Hospital E-Certs

MedCost Benefit Services requires precertification* on all admissions except routine delivery. Providers can initiate precertification via a phone call, fax, or through our Web site. Regardless of how the certification notice is initiated, the information is automatically transferred into our system, eliminating the need for manual data entry and resulting in faster payment times.

Providers may access our Web site to determine certification status. Each business day, the MedCost care management staff reviews the prior day’s certification requests and creates, encrypts, and posts electronic certification records to our system.
